Georgy Girl

Director: Silvio Narizzano
Year Released: 1966
Rating: 2.0

Georgy (Lynn Redgrave) is pudgy and unloved (except by James Mason, who she spits at) and lives with two hedonists, Alan Bates and Charlotte Rampling. The film goes on and on, Georgy cries and pouts, her and Bates form a 'bond,' Rampling runs around on both of them, living it up as a beauty queen. What might have been a 'fun' film quickly becomes a bore, as Bates is given too much freedom to chew scenery and Georgy does nothing to help herself or her appearance (whatever happened to make-up?).
