The Sea Wolf

Director: Michael Curtiz
Year Released: 1941
Rating: 2.5

Filmization of the Jack London story (which is similar to Mutiny on the Bounty) which has the 'lost' crew of The Ghost, led by the 'Sea Wolf' himself, Edward G. Robinson, after his brother's ship to steal his seal skins. Ida Lupino and John Garfield (the former an escaped convict) try to usurp Robinson's command, but have to deal with his fiercely loyal (and malicious) crew. Somewhat interesting, but also muddled and prone to long dissertations and some profoundly dumb 'blood type' guessing (all criminals have the same kind?).
