Director: Kyle Newacheck
Year Released: 2018
Three chums (Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Blake Anderson), who are employed as cleaners for a hotel, wind up in the middle of a hostage situation when terrorists try to kidnap wealthy social media 'celebrity' Bae Awadi (Utkarsh Ambudkar). The director and the cast did the cult Comedy Central show Workaholics for years, and this feels like the dreaded 'feature length sitcom,' except with full frontal nudity, a severed pecker and extreme gore (blending bloodshed with 'comedy' is generally unsuccessful): it's infantile, but a few of the gags land ... on the cheapest imaginable level. I was informed this is 'a riot' if you're under the influence of a certain foul-smelling plant (I don't use), but that's definitely cheating. You can smoke a bunch of dank and end up finding the phonebook riveting.
