Bad Batch, The

Director:  Ana Lily Amirpour
Year Released:  2016
Rating:  1.0

Arlen (Suki Waterhouse), who finds herself in a post-apocalyptic desert, is captured and partially dismembered by cannibals (with their 'leader' being Jason Momoa's "Miami Man") ... but escapes to a town called Comfort (with the help of a mute drifter, played by Jim Carrey) but wants revenge (... sort-of). Ogling Waterhouse's (partially-eaten) body in close-up is fine and such, but it doesn't constitute a stable narrative - I swear Amirpour "wrote" the "script" on a single Zig-Zag rolling paper - and what is there doesn't make much sense: how does Keanu Reeves' 70's hustler end up being the bad guy over a murderous savage? Did I need to be on acid to make sense of this? One thing is certain: Amirpour can put together a nice soundtrack ... now start working on pacing, dialogue, etc.
