Lawyer Jason (Zac Efron) goes on a small road trip with his grandfather Dick (Robert De Niro) after the passing of his grandmother ... except it turns out his grandpa is a filthy sex-obsessed weirdo hell bent on sleeping with Lenore (Aubrey Plaza) and breaking up Jason's engagement to uptight Meredith (Julianne Hough). The concerted effort to be as obscene (in language and behavior) as possible is pathetic - making it worse is having the accomplished De Niro (as well as Plaza ... and Efron) degrade themselves for "humor" when the two truly funny characters in this are the ones with smaller roles: "salesman" Pam (Jason Mantzoukas) and dog lovin' cousin Nick (Adam Pally). Makes me appreciate Bad Santa even more, which had the nerve to be crass and edgy and still keep its inhabitants 'real.'
