Goosebumps

Generic high-schooler Zach (Dylan Minnette) moves to Madison, Delaware with his mom (Amy Ryan), a vice-principal ... and right next door to them is home-schooled Hannah (Odeya Rush) and her eccentric father (Jack Black) who just so happens to be kid-horror writer R. L. Stine. Strictly aimed at the same demographic as Stine's books - I'm guessing anyone younger than 13 - with its Jumanji¬-esque book baddies ripped from other works (did Slappy come from Magic?); Jack Black is actively encouraged to ham-it-the-hell-up in every single scene. Poor Halston Sage: just as in Paper Towns, her character is the beauty being written by nerdy writer types to kiss nerdy, future-writer types.
