JLG doing JLG things: he 'starts' with the basic 'idea' of a woman having an affair (typical setup for him) ... and from that, well, he continues toying around with different digital cameras (one of them 3D!), telling stories, quoting books, tinkering with filters and sound clips, recording a dog. Godard, in his eighties, doesn't seem like the kind of person who could focus on anything longer than a few seconds (which I thought was an affliction of the millennials) and here he is making the equivalent of an hour-long Snapchat story. It's probably best to bask in the occasional gorgeous segment and let the stream of images wash over you: it may mean little in the end (to me, at least), but seeing a pioneer in the medium fiddle with little experiments like this is charming ... in a way.
