Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Director: Alfred Hitchcock
Year Released: 1941
Rating: 2.0

Merely average Hitchcock about the "sanctity" of marriage - Robert Montgomery and Carole Lombard are on the outs when they discover (through sheer gimmickry) that their marriage isn't legal. This leads to a separation where Lombard flirts tauntingly with other men while previously disgruntled Montgomery, who fought a lot with her when they were "married," becomes insanely jealous, concocting scheme after scheme to win her back. Last half-hour is a crock of nonsense; it's a Leo McCarey picture gone horribly stale.
