Monsters, Inc.

Director: Pete Docter
Year Released: 2001
Rating: 3.0

Adorable animated film - by the people at Pixar, who did wonders with the Toy Story series - about an alternate world of monsters who use the screams of children as energy to power their city. I don't know if there is anyone quite as good as Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski) or John Goodman (Sully) at voice acting in the entire United States - Crystal especially - and they deserve a good chunk of the praise for making this as funny as it is (in Japan, the voice actors do anime and only anime, and when the pictures arrive in the States the dubbing is typically awful). Pretty much a must-see, like the other Pixar pictures, though I am starting to wonder about the commercially safe, generic plotting (and formulas) used in all of them. No matter, though - it's a lot of fun.
