Most Dangerous Man in America, The: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers

Director: Judith Ehrlich and Rick Goldsmith
Year Released: 2009
Rating: 2.0

Informative - if familiar and uncreative - retelling of the Ellsberg tale and how he leaked the top secret Pentagon Papers (about America's questionable involvement in the Vietnam War) to the New York Times and various other papers. As beautiful an act of patriotism and moral responsibility as Ellsberg's history-shaping defiance was, this is basically an extended History Channel episode, complete with ugly Flash-style animations and "dramatic recreations." The tale is there and still relevant today - notice the nonsense Bradley Manning and Julian Assange have gone through - though this is hardly the impassioned cry for loyalty to one's principles it could have been.
