Baghead

Director: Mark and Jay Duplass
Year Released: 2008
Rating: 1.0

Just as music has the no-fi movement - detuned instruments, terrible production quality, cruddy 'technique,' meaningless or painfully idiotic lyrics - so the movies do too, and the Brothers Duplass are but two purveyors of this economical but vacuous style. Here, four actors in L.A. - being actors, they're underemployed and growing older - decide to hole up in a cabin to come up with a film script that they'll star in and produce themselves, but their efforts are consistently thwarted by - of all devises - a 'stalker' running around the premises with a bag over his/her head that likes to bang on windows or enter bedrooms unannounced. The fact that it turns out to be a dumb prank seems all too fitting.
