Two Irish hit men (Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson) hide out in Bruges, Belgium after Farrell takes out a priest (and, accidentally, a young boy), awaiting orders from Big Boss Ralph Fiennes as to what to do next … also taking in the sights. The oddball, politically incorrect humor (targeting little people, Americans, Europeans and Belgium in general) clashes with the brutality and nihilism - some parts are fairly amusing, but then immediately after it switches to something morose (the tone is all over the place) and, at the end, one long, gory and ludicrous gun battle. Using the adjective 'fucking' every other word isn't nearly as funny as McDonagh thinks it is, and makes me think less of the script.
