The Two of Us

During World War II-era France, a Jewish boy is sent to stay with a French version of Archie Bunker (played magnificently by Michel Simon) and his dutiful wife out in the country - trouble is, Simon's character is an anti-Semite and doesn't know about the boy's ethnicity. Perhaps the best thing to say about this lightweight affair is that Simon's character never does discover the boy's heritage and remains a good ol' bigot to the very end - there are no great epiphanies and actually having the man completely change his views towards the end of his life would have been unlikely.
