One of Godard's most scattershot films - which is actually saying quite a lot - that covers, among other things, the Vietnam conflict, Wittgenstein, the life of a prostitute, consumer society and how the universe can very well exist in a swirling cup of hot coffee. This shotgun approach is both a major strength and major weakness, coming across as too diffuse to rank as a masterwork, but the cinematography is excellent and, if you're in the right mood, much of JLG's insights should reverberate with you. I think his attack on consumerist culture was much more cutting in Tout va bien, but others may dispute this.
