Border Radio

Director: Allison Anders, Dean Lent and Kurt Voss
Year Released: 1987
Rating: 0.5

Mostly pointless indie exercise that feels like it was made on the weekends by a group of friends - it just so happens that some of those friends, like John Doe and Chris D. were semi-well-known musicians from L.A. According to the credits, the plot - meager as it is - was conceived by the cast, and it shows - the improvisation doesn't lend to much tension or drama between the cast. Doesn't even work as an evocation of the mid 80's music scene, and listening to the band X's album "Los Angeles" is a more fulfilling experience.
