A German student with a taste for adventure develops a taste for rich American expatriates and China White and, predictably, dies from a combination of both. There isn't much going on here - and the acting leaves much to be desired - but Schroeder (in his feature length debut) along with mainstay Nestor Almendros do a wonderful job of capturing the beauty of Ibiza - the picture coasts on its combination of gorgeous imagery and period detail. It's unfortunate there isn't more to the characters, and with the flood of rich, detailed pictures about drug abuse (notably Trainspotting) it looks flimsy in comparison. The score by Pink Floyd is a nice addition (as it was for La Vallee).
