Layer Cake

Director: Matthew Vaughn
Year Released: 2004
Rating: 0.5

Dull crime caper about an unnamed drug trafficker and the other crooks that are using him for their own gain - I'm not very good at cooking, but apparently the recipe for a layer cake is taking most interesting parts of similar movies, stripping them of all potential interest and then mashing them all together in bowl. You've got your forced two minutes of sexiness (courtesy of Sienna Miller), your flashy camera tricks, your mixed up plot full of dull twists and flashbacks, your script loaded with F-bombs and an especially retarded ending to add some sort of glib irony. Whenever I see a movie this terribly unoriginal, it actually makes me depressed.
