Dernier Combat, Le

Director: Luc Besson
Year Released: 1983
Rating: 1.0

Meaningless first film from Besson, who shows the audience that yes, he has a working knowledge of Lucas' THX-1138 and Star Wars, Mad Max and Don Quixote. Men battle each other for women - and water - in post-apocalyptic world; the main character befriends a doctor/artist who tends to his wounds and feeds him while fending off angry intruder Jean Reno. Black and white imagery earn you an "A" at Tisch or UCLA, but someone - during production - should have noticed that some kind of script was missing.
