... and she's completely suicidal. Exactly like the title says: two young individuals (both recovering from bad break-ups) meet at a party and talk about the concept of love. There's a hodgepodge of ideas all thrown in together a la the French New Wave, but Carax never shapes the material, choosing to throw it all into the pot pell-mell and let it float around, waiting for someone to unscramble the mess (the claim that it's autobiographical makes sense since only Carax knows what it means - wouldn't it have been advisable to let everyone else in on the secret(s)?). Perhaps the answer is in a line close to the end: "Don't look at me. I'm a truck!"
