Keeper (2025) review

Dr. Malcolm Westbridge (Rossif Sutherland) takes his girlfriend (or is that mistress?) Liz (Tatiana Maslany) to a snazzy cabin so they can spend a romantic weekend together, they receive a visit from pesky next-door neighbor (and Malcolm's cousin) Darren (Birkett Turton) and his "date" Minka (Eden Weiss), Malcolm leaves for a few hours to "tend to a patient" and then Liz begins hallucinating ... after devouring an entire chocolate cake.  You have to hand it to Perkins, who keeps steadily cranking out these 'horror movies' even though the scripts are absolutely terrible: in this particular instance, it's a #YesAllMen movie in which it's revealed that Malcolm and Darren are actually centuries-old serial killers who exclusively target women.  While it is painfully simple-minded, it is also well-shot, and the creatures that appear throughout - including a woman with a bag over her head, a multi-faced demon-lady and something with a neck that could be made out of Play-Doh - deserve to be in a project more worthy of their creepiness.
