Jurassic World Rebirth

Dinosaurs that were recreated by scientists are mostly congregating in land around the equator - due to unpleasant climate conditions elsewhere - so pharmaceutical executive Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend) hires gun-for-hire Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) to acquire blood samples from three types of the prehistoric animals, and the two of them - along with a team consisting of former Marine Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali), paleontologist Dr. Loomis (Jonathan Bailey), trigger-happy Bobby (Ed Skrein) and sailor LeClerc (Bechir Sylvain) - sail through dangerous waters to locate the reptiles, and wind up saving a stranded family on their way there. David Koepp, who co-wrote the original 1993 movie with Michael Crichton, provided the script except it's a strictly by-the-numbers exercise that shamelessly borrows from Spielberg - including children in peril! - and offers nothing new to the story aside from "hybrid dinos" that look like aliens. The Loomis character brings up some good points regarding (a.) issues with the environment and (b.) Big Pharma (he wants to open source their findings so the whole world can make life-saving medicines), but that's probably just lip-service for the members of the audience who genuinely care about the health of the planet (which isn't very popular nowadays).
