Porky's
Director: Bob Clark
Year Released: 1981
Rating: 0.5
Fifties-era high school boys from Florida - including virgin "Pee Wee" (Dan Monahan), tenacious Mickey (Roger Wilson) and brawny "Meat" (Tony Ganios) - have two things on their minds, playing basketball and fornicating with experienced ladies, so they drive to a notorious strip club/dive bar owned by cigar-chomping "Porky" (Chuck Mitchell) hoping to "pay for pleasure," but instead are humiliated and plan on getting even. It's clear the sight gags - a colossal condom being blown up, peeping on the girls in the shower, a guy having his member yanked through a glory hole by an obese gym teacher, Miss Honeywell (Kim Cattrall) sounding like a Rough Collie during intercourse, etc. - are what made this such a hit (it was one of the highest grossing releases of 1982), except it's also embarrassingly juvenile, crudely put together and the comedic timing is missing. It's very much a product of its era - proudly horny heterosexual men chasing after women isn't quite "popular" today - but the overly enthusiastic cast certainly acts as if they're having the time of their lives.
