Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver

Director: Zack Snyder
Year Released: 2024
Rating: 1.0

The second film of Snyder's "imitation" Star Wars movies (funded by Netflix) once again has the residents of the Veldt threatened by the Motherworld for their precious grain and trained to fight by General Titus (Djimon Hounsou) and the crew, Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) is restored to full health (after being previously injured) and then Kora (Sofia Boutella) and Gunnar (Michiel Huisman) sneak onto the enemy spaceship to blow it up.  The same complaints from Part One are still prevalent so there's no need to rehash them here ("character development" is on-going some forty five minutes in, for example): it's tiresome to see him cobble from so many other better pictures for his "ideas" (there's even a final battle with glowing swords!) and extremely egotistical to think that the deaths of key members of the group will have any "actual" resonance with the audience.  On the plus side, it's nice to hear Anthony Hopkins' voice as robotic warrior Jimmy ... and he probably didn't have to show up on set!
