Attorney Anne (Léa Drucker), who specializes in defending underage sexual assault victims, finds herself in a bit of a predicament when Théo (Samuel Kircher), the temperamental step-son of her stressed-out businessman husband Pierre (Olivier Rabourdin), moves in to live with them and they start a romantic relationship ... except the moment she tries to break it off permanently (to keep her family intact), Théo turns into a vicious snitch.  Breillat based this on the 2019 Danish movie Queen of Hearts, but the heated taboo nature of it is all hers, as it places the audience in a perplexing situation: you might find yourself rooting for her to wiggle herself out of a fix with cunning and lawyer-speak ... even though she's clearly in the wrong.  Both leads are proven to be liars - she claims she's a "gerontophile" and he boasts that "feelings are not my thing" - and serves as a warning to the cougars out there that teenage boys, despite their overconfident appearances, are emotional messes and that one should proceed with the utmost caution.
