Halloween III: Season of the Witch
Director: Tommy Lee Wallace
Year Released: 1983
Rating: 0.5
Shop owner Harry Grimbridge (Al Berry) goes completely bonkers and is taken to the hospital and treated by Dr. Dan Challis (Tom Atkins), who notices Harry is clutching a mask from the Silver Shamrock Novelties company ... so Dr. Dan, along with Harry's daughter Ellie (Stacey Nelkin), pay a visit to their headquarters - which is run by Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy) - to look into exactly what kind of evil products they're manufacturing. This third component of the Halloween series has nothing to do with Michael Myers (the producers unwisely wanted to turn it into an "anthology") and is all the worse for it: it tries to be this science fiction/horror hybrid, but it's severely incompetent at both ... not to mention it has a strangely anti-Irish bent (and who actually wants to steal Stonehenge?). I first saw this when I was in grade school and the bugs crawling out of heads and the incessant commercials (with that eerie soundtrack) weirded me out, but anyone older than eleven years of age should want this movie tossed into the closest ocean.
