Hal Porterfield (Christopher Abbott), heir to a multi-million dollar hotel chain, hires dominatrix Rebecca (Margaret Qualley) to sexually taunt him (he's even prepared a script for both of them to follow), but after he dismisses her (and gifts her an Audemars Piguet), she tries "blackmailing" him, claiming she's been recording their "sessions."  The two leads make the most out of the material, but it's fundamentally an MFA thesis project that's a surface level examination of the conflict between the wealthy and the poor: in an ugly scene that wouldn't be permitted if the roles were reversed, Rebecca goes so far as to "rape" Hal at knifepoint intending to bear his child.  It never bothers delving into how being degraded supposedly makes someone a better businessman ... and when it gets to the "psychoanalysis" portion of the plot - where she "imitates" his father - get ready to flinch.  Also painful: the very idea of using a Q-tip as a sounding rod.
