Delusion
Director: Carl Colpaert
Year Released: 1991
Rating: 2.0
While on his way to Reno with stolen funds from his computer company that was taken over, George (Jim Metzler) tries to help out a couple who just got into a car accident, dancer Patti (Jennifer Rubin) and her boyfriend Chevy (Kyle Secor), but it turns out they're not as helpless as they seem. There are too many coincidences and nonsensical moments for the plot to be even semi-plausible - and Secor's terrible hitman is very irritating - although it more or less "settles" down in the last act, when the barren and beautiful Death Valley landscape almost becomes its own character. It has an early 90's indie vibe to it that might be refreshing to some ... at least in hindsight.
