Spin Me Round

Restaurant manager Amber (Alison Brie), who works at an Olive Garden-type establishment, "wins" a trip to Italy where she's supposed to learn new things at company's "Institute" - there, she meets the company owner Nick Martucci (Alessandro Nivola) and his assistant Kat (Aubrey Plaza) and then notices people keep going missing. I'm not sure why it is, but Brie - who co-wrote the "script" with Baena - keeps finding herself in roles where she's both gullible and depressed and usually either (a.) aggressively pursued (in this case, by Nivola) or (b.) mocked and/or put down in some way by everyone around her. There isn't much of a story worth having an interest in: most of the "mysteries" are just coincidences ... oh, and eventually there's an orgy that's interrupted by boars. Fun fact: you can actually visit The Boot without having to make a movie there. It's true: try the carpaccio, sample some gelato, have a walk and ask the residents a lot of questions (they love that).
