The Hound of the Baskervilles

Director: Terence Fisher
Year Released: 1959
Rating: 2.0

Luminous, prissy adaptation of the Sherlock Holmes adventure made by Hammer Studios about a mysterious curse on the Baskerville family (next victim: Christopher Lee). Stagy and aloof, it features the typically gorgeous cinematography and obsession with blood the studio was famous for but never manages to captivate; Cushing is a fantastic Holmes.
