Informed by her doctor that she has a terminal illness, Sarah (Karen Gillan) - who's in a one-sided relationship with her boyfriend Peter (Beulah Koale) - opts to allow herself to be cloned ... except when she's later informed she was misdiagnosed, her and her double have to fight to the death. This concept has been done before (and slightly better) - I'm reminded of 2021's Swan Song with Mahershala Ali - but Stearns tries to adopt a more "sarcastic" tone to the topic ... except it fails because he still hasn't gotten the hang of how to write a scene in the first place (and what is with the screeching noises?). I will give him a bit of credit for continuing with a pet passion of his - the martial arts - and having Aaron Paul's sensei "schooling" the real Sarah in self-defense: maybe Riley should team up with David Mamet (who also loves fisticuffs) for a future project?
