Jackass 4.5 (2022) review

Affable (... if not certifiable) tricksters Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius and the gang had so much material left over from making Jackass Forever that they took a lot of stunts and gags that didn't make that movie and combined them with documentary footage of what was going on behind the scenes (they did this before with 2.5 and 3.5 ... leave nothing to waste!).  If you couldn't get into the utter madness and gratuitous self-harm of any of their movies this is skippable, but I'd be hard pressed to name a recent release that made me either flinch or gag as many times as this did, from the "hot sauce enema" bit (followed by popsicles!) to playing around with an electric eel to eating bits of sashimi off of a morbidly obese man's body to taking a bowling ball to the groin to convincing a gang-banger - who's scared of everything except guns - to go skydiving.  But as I said before (it bears repeating): as much as I appreciate the lunacy on display, this should be the last of these.  Y'all have nothing left to prove: you have mastered the form.
