Horse Feathers
Director: Norman Z. McLeod
Year Released: 1932
Rating: 3.5
Groucho gets elected President of a university and realizes that football is more important than academics (and this was 1932!) so he and the other Marx Bros. decide to sabotage the big game between their school and Darwin University. Insanity perfected: Harpo shovels books into a fireplace; Chico saws through the wooden floors, gags fly by nonstop, logic and compassion get thrown out the window (along with the large blocks of ice). The ratio of good jokes to bad is favorable, and there aren't many musical numbers ("I'm Against It," is a classic Groucho moment), making this one of their better films.
