Windfall

Director: Charlie McDowell
Year Released: 2022
Rating: 1.5

An inexperienced thief (Jason Segel) breaks into the house of a rich tech CEO (Jesse Plemons) and his wife (Lily Collins), grabs a couple of grand, tries to leave, notices a security camera, goes back inside and takes the two hostage (there's also a gun involved, in case you were wondering).  This is the kind of movie you make during a pandemic - it has a small cast at a single location - but it's also badly underwritten, coming to the conclusion that the "haves" can wipe out their competitors with ease (and amass great wealth) and the "have nots" will be perpetually in misery if all they think about is becoming billionaires (also the wives of prosperous men might not be that happy).  It inevitably turns Segel's character into something of a marriage counselor, but he's just as bad at that as stealing from people.
