Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight 2
Director: Bartosz M. Kowalski
Year Released: 2021
Rating: 1.5
Part two of everyone's (?) favorite Polish horror series has newbie cop Adam (Mateusz Wieclawek) and his colleague Wanessa (Zofia Wichłacz) looking into the murders that took place in the first movie, with little weirdo Zosia (Julia Wieniawa-Narkiewicz) in jail - along with two brutes that were previously captured - and a large rock that oozes radioactive black oil that can transform humans into freaks. The same gripes are still there from the last time - everyone's a dummy and makes stupid decisions and director Kowalski is too busy thinking about the gore effects instead of making it funnier or scarier (pick one) - except for act three it does a clever about-face, shifting focus from the "good guys" to the "bad guys": Adam gets turned into a mutant by Zosia, and then the two of them start acting like a couple and arguing with each other (before one of them gets hit by a truck). It's cheap fun if you go in it expecting nothing and being rewarded with very little.
