Cat People
Director: Paul Schrader
Year Released: 1982
Rating: 1.0
Malcolm McDowell and Nastassja Kinski are brother and sister, and they come from a family of half-breed cat-people, and they can both turn into killer leopards ... come on, this is the kind of shit that goes straight-to-video, and nothing you'd expect from Schrader, who has a track record of making 'good' movies. It's really silly and tough to appreciate - just imagine B-movie fodder salvaged by a director with an eye for composition and an interest in sexual content (and 'deeper meanings') - I think it all has something to do with the inherent animal nature in people or the destructive power of the id/libido, but I wasn't buying any of it.
