Space Jam: A New Legacy

Director: Malcolm D. Lee
Year Released: 2021
Rating: 1.0

Superstar athlete LeBron James (as "himself"), along with his video game lovin' son Dom (Cedric Joe), get "sucked into" the Warner Bros. "Serververse" (ahem) by a rogue program called Al G. Rhythm (Don Cheadle), who forces King James to engage in a basketball game, so he gathers together many of the Looney Tunes (Bugs, Daffy, Lola, Porky Pig, etc.) to help him win with their ... antics.  I wasn't a fan of the first Space Jam back in 1996 and I'm not really digging this one either - the "message" about father-son bonding is laid on heavily and everything is so silly and over the top, so maybe if the kiddos dug the destruction of Tom & Jerry from earlier this year they can "appreciate" the "flights of fancy."  It's junky, but you can't say they didn't try.
