Stand-up comedienne Andrea (Iliza Shlesinger) - who is "unlucky in love" - starts a relationship with "hedge fund manager" and "Yale alum" Dennis (Ryan Hansen) who appears to care about her, but his "life story" doesn't seem to add up.  Mixing a stand-up special and "fiction" isn't the best way to go - it brings back memories of Seinfeld, which makes it seem even more sitcom-y - plus the way it's built is clearly one-sided: Dennis is a pathological liar and a louse who is so clearly not who he says he is, but Andrea-the-Innocent keeps going out with him when every red flag says to stop (she's a glutton for punishment).  It gives off strong anti-male vapors, but writing off half the population as odious because you have poor judgment isn't exactly the correct way to approach life.
