A Quiet Place Part II
Director: John Krasinski
Year Released: 2020
Rating: 1.0
With the Earth still being attacked by sightless aliens with super sensitive hearing, Evelyn (Emily Blunt), along with her son Marcus (Noah Jupe) and deaf daughter Regan (Millicent Simmonds), have to keep sneaking and running around to look for other humans and safety. It starts with a flashback to day one of the invasion which would have been a fantastic opportunity to, you know, explain what's happening or provide some context, but that would have required someone to spend more than fifteen minutes on the script itself, and details aren't important when you can just take a real life-hearing impaired girl and use her for easy audience sympathy when she decides to "go out alone" (which is really just a suicide mission). It leaves an opening for a part three, which I imagine will be equally underwritten and mindless.
