Lost in America

Director: Albert Brooks
Year Released: 1985
Rating: 3.0

Two yuppies leave their jobs, buy a Winnebago and try to 'find America' (like in Easy Rider) in Brooks' second and probably best film so far. His deadpan delivery and humorous dialogue are impeccable, and the picture is consistently funny for its duration - which, I might add, is pretty short. Slight, perhaps, but there is something of a point to all of it: be grateful for what you have ... and leave 'finding yourself' to Kerouac's novels and (ironically) the movies.
