Longtime companions Sam (Colin Firth), a musician, and Tusker (Stanley Tucci), a writer, go on a road trip through England via their trusty RV while stopping to gaze at the stars, go for walks, visit family and bicker over Tusker's plan to commit suicide because he has early onset dementia.  Tucci and Firth are two of the best we have, but they carry this only so far, since the movie is slight and self-pitying: Sam actually flips through Tusker's writing to see them degenerate into chicken scratch and then finds his recorded 'final message' (accompanied by the drug he intends to overdose on ... queue the string section).  In one of the more 'poignant' moments, Tusker explains to a little girl about how human beings are composed of stardust ... which he lifted from Neil deGrasse Tyson.
