Bloody Hell
Director: Alister Grierson
Year Released: 2020
Rating: 1.5
Upon his release from prison - for playing "hero" during a bank robbery and saving a lot of lives - former soldier Rex (Ben O'Toole) leaves the U.S. to go live in Finland, but upon arriving is kidnapped and hung from a rope in a basement with part of his right leg sawed off. It's a total mish-mosh of tones and genres and the editing is very scrambled - someone forgot to take their ADHD medication when pasting this together - but it does have a lot of energy, so it's never quite dull: O'Toole has to play not only himself but his "ego" too, so a good portion of this is him bantering with himself (echoing Fight Club: "I am Jack's smirking revenge"). You know what Kael said about filmmakers who know everything about movies but nothing about real life....
