After her criminal husband hands her an infant - without any explanation - and then goes missing, Jean (Rachel Brosnahan) goes on the run with Cal (Arinzé Kene), one of her husband's associates, who says her life is in danger. It's the kind of movie that peddles in vagueness thinking that makes it more "mysterious" ... but in fact just has nothing up its proverbial sleeve - there are multiple down moments where everyone just sits and ruminates, and then to wake itself up there are gunshots and an overturned car and dead bodies galore. It seems to want to say something about race relations in America (circa the 1970's), but like everything else it can't bring itself to expound upon that....
