Holidate (2020) review

Perpetually single Sloane (Emma Roberts) has a chance encounter with an Australian golf instructor named Jackson (Luke Bracey) and they make an agreement to be each other's "holidate" - a platonic "date" just for the holidays and no other time - but, as one might predict, they start to 'catch feelings' for each other.  As far as generic rom-coms go you could do much worse than this: it's a trifle but it has some entertaining moments, and there's real chemistry between Roberts and Bracey (an off-brand Hemsworth).  Everyone knows a real date with Ms. Emma ends up with bite marks, a bloody face and police intervention....
