The Killer Is Loose
Director: Budd Boetticher
Year Released: 1956
Rating: 2.5
Bespectacled bank worker stages a heist and gets tracked down by policeman Joseph Cotten, who, in a shootout, accidentally kills the man's wife. While in prison, all the bank worker can think about is revenge, and eliminating Cotten's wife (eye-for-an-eye, we're told). Though a little too brief to have much of an impact (73 minutes), it had loads of potential, and has one dynamite scene between the 'killer' and one of his old Army buddies - the man everyone says is so 'dangerous' turns out to be not as much ruthless as pathetic.
