The Company of Wolves

Director: Neil Jordan
Year Released: 1984
Rating: 2.0

'Adult' interpretation on children's fairy tales has some wonderful asides - the characters sometimes stop the narrative to interject a story they heard about, which is then shown in detail - but with a weak main storyline and muddled meaning. Doesn't feel like a 'complete' film, but there are some wonderful atmospherics and Jordan veteran Stephen Rea pops up briefly as a uni-browed miscreant. It could have been something, I tell ya....
