Babyteeth (2019) review

Sickly teen Milla (Eliza Scanlen) has an odd encounter with Moses (Toby Wallace), an energetic dirt bag with a mullet, and falls in love with him (for whatever reason), which sets off her parents (Ben Mendelsohn and Essie Davis) who are already having a rough patch in their marriage.  You can thank John Green (... again) for the 'inspiration' for another story about sad, dying kids - Milla has cancer (although the movie couldn't be bothered to say what type) - that's inexplicably presented in fragments, as scenes start and end almost indiscriminately ... not to mention there's no sense of rhythm and an ending that's reprehensible (attempted suffocation leads to sex which then leads to actual death).  I understand parenting isn't easy, but watching your fragile daughter chase around a junkie who steals her medication must be unbearably stressful.
