The Invisible Man

Director: Leigh Whannell
Year Released: 2020
Rating: 2.5

One night, Cecelia (Elisabeth Moss) drugs her odious husband Adrian (Oliver Jackson-Cohen), a pioneer in the field of optics, and escapes his home - a little while later, she hears that he committed suicide ... and yet she finds she's still being followed by someone that no one can see (which makes everyone think she's nuts).  It's a case of the Universal Cinematic Universe teaming up with the #MeToo movement, and not too bad for a thriller (it reminds me of Sleeping With the Enemy): you're gonna need to overlook more than one plot hole (no one thought to request a death certificate?) and it would have been nice to see what their relationship was like before she split.  Still, Moss deserves all the credit for holding it together: it can't be easy to act against ... nothing.
