Impractical Jokers: The Movie

Director: Chris Henchy
Year Released: 2020
Rating: 1.5

"Movie version" of the TruTV reality show Impractical Jokers has the quartet of Q, Murr, Sal and Joe - all friends from Staten Island - drive to Miami to see a Paula Abdul concert and, along the way, create "hidden camera challenges" for each other to participate in with an "unsuspecting" public (the ghost of Allen Funt looms overhead).  I can see where the TV program tried capitalizing on Sacha Baron Cohen's success (with Ali G and Borat) but the fictional setup with Abdul is juvenile and the skits themselves are mostly unfunny (how do the 'real people' not notice the cameras all around them?) with a few exceptions (the interviews with the Atlanta Hawks personnel, the broken down car bit).  It's mostly four middle age bar bros who get a little too carried away laughing at their own jokes.
