Bikram: Yogi, Guru, Predator
Director: Eva Orner
Year Released: 2019
Rating: 2.0
As the story goes, Indian yoga instructor Bikram Choudhury comes to the United States, becomes a sensation teaching his 'own version' of the practice (which involves cranking the heat up a ridiculous amount), gets citizenship from Richard Nixon (?) and, after years go by, it turns out he was a sociopath who preyed on women (when not insulting them). What the man did was deplorable - let's be clear about that - though this is nothing more than an hour-long Dateline (or 48 Hours) TV-style 'expose' about a con man who convinced vulnerable individuals (wearing very little clothing) that they're "special" ... and then giving them the old "Bollywood and Chill" move in his suite. It should be no surprise a fast-talking and self-confident 'entrepreneur' - who is a pathological liar - has a lot to run from, and I pity the naivety of people thinking the guy's some sort of prophet.
