Paradise Hills

Director: Alice Waddington
Year Released: 2019
Rating: 1.0

Pink-haired Uma (Emma Roberts) wakes up in a strange place called Paradise - run by The Duchess (Milla Jovovich) - and isn't sure what's happening or why she's there, but it eventually becomes clear it's some sort of brainwashing facility, and naturally she wants to get out.  I'd like to know if after the movie was "edited" director Waddington or the producers bothered to rewind to the beginning and re-watch it all the way through because it's (a.) clunky and (b.) pretty incoherent: the movie jumps around and omits details a good deal of the time (at one point, I thought it was an allegory for Conversion Therapy).  If paying attention to the plot or character development isn't your thing, it does have some beautiful sets and amazing costumes to get lost in (Emma and singer Eiza González wear what I can only describe as leather Lady Armor, Awkwafina has Bose headphones designed by a biker gang).
